When my husband and I went to Mexico we got LOST in a park!
As we walked around a theme park, we were greeted by the strong smell of a wet dog, but it wasnβt a dog behind a fence it was a wolf!!
We saw this tall thin wolf for the first time up close when my husband and I somehow got lost in the natural landscape surrounding a theme park.
She was a very melancholy Mexican wolf behind a chain-linked fence...
But I will never forget those hopeful eyes staring back at me from the dismal habitat.
The wolf had an unforgettable mesmerizing gaze. β¨
When we returned home from the trip, I grabbed my headphones π§, hit shuffle, and scribbled an image in my sketchbook because I could not get her haunting eyes out of my mind.
As I was finishing up the sketch I rushed over to the easel. When the realistic wolf πΊ was revealed I adorned her with neon brushstrokes and drips that seemed to radiate her prism-like spirit. π
So, I began to explore more wildlife animals. A lion, an elephant, a tiger, and a leopard emerged as the chosen subjects. π¦ππ π
At the end of the last splattering of paint that flew onto the canvas, I recalled once more the soulful eyes that locked with mine from behind the fence.

VIBRANT BEAST COLLECTION
The 'Vibrant Beast Collection' was inspired by my love of wildlife, abstract art, and bright colors.
I wanted to share the untamed boldness of the animal kingdom's spirit and message through neon colors.
I paint with acrylics because of the versatility of the heavy body, flow, ink, markers, and fluid paint. This allowed me to create multiple layers and textures on the canvas.
These majestic animals emerged as the chosen subjects because of the journey in Mexico and the inner journey I embarked on last year.

About Jennifer Guajardo
Jennifer is an artist living in Cypress, TX, with her husband of 19 years, three children, and her miniature poodle, Lady.
She has been shown in many local exhibitions and online art competitions. Some of her graphic art pieces are displayed at her alma mater, American InterContinental University, Houston.
